When we still lived in Torrox, we regularly visited Cómpeta, a very picturesque wine village in the province of Malaga.

Don’t you just love these narrow streets with abundant plants and flowers? The best thing to do is to orientate yourself toward the church:

In the bard and restaurants you can taste Cómpeta’s sweet wines. You pay a bit extra for the local wines, but it’s really worth it. And don’t forget the tapas!

Remember this is the province of Malaga, so you have to pay for your tapas!

These were excellent by the way! If you have no idea in what kind of village you find yourself, have a closer look at the church.

If you don’t mind being surrounded by lots and lots of people you could visit Cómpeta in mid-July during the feria de verano in honor of its patron saint (4 days of fiesta!).
